COVID 19 Information

We would be so pleased to welcome you to Craigroyston House / Lodge, we really hope your friends and family stayed safe and well during this extremely testing period, life has changed for us all over the last few months, and were all adapting to a new ‘norm’.
As always we still want to make your stay a comfortable one, but also as you will understand we need to comply with new government legislation. We’re following all government guidelines and working on best place practice measures. We’ve completed as a team a risk assessment of all areas, based on the template from the Health and Safety Executive and received our certificate of validation, ‘Good to Go’. We firmly believe this needs to be a joint effort between our team AND guests, so please play your part in keeping everyone safe.

Check In and Out

We are working on adapting the Arrival, Check-in and Check out process, to support the physical distancing and ensure safety for all. On arrival, please sanitise your hands, ring the bell and wait for us to come. For the lodge the door will be unlocked, please walk in, check-in is now strictly 4pm onwards to allow necessary down time to air the guest areas. We may be busy directing guests so please bare with us. Guidelines suggest that we avoid contact with luggage, if struggling this will be done in a sanitised / physically distanced manner. For check out, please bring keys down and place in the basket on hall table, these can then be sanitised. Please open the windows and doors to air rooms before cleaning staff enter. Payment can be by card or cash.

Capacity

We are adhering to government 2M guidelines, so within the breakfast room we have limited capacity for everyone to come down at once, so with this in mind we are operating a time slot for breakfast between 0800 – 0900, this will be discussed at check-in. For safety please adhere to times. Breakfast menus are laminated, cleanable, please fill out and place on hall table with pen. These are sanitised daily. Waiting staff will sanitise / wash their hands before taking food or cutlery to a guest and before clearing tables. Condiments will be sanitised after every sitting.

Cleaning

At Craigroyston, we already operate a strict cleaning policy, but will now be taking extra steps to ensure that all areas are thoroughly sanitised, this includes the communal areas, door handles, banister, breakfast room. The resident’s lounge is sadly closed, but there is a small craft area, which you are welcome to browse and shop, but please sanitise your hands on browsing. In the bedrooms we have removed some furnishings but you will still find tea tray, hairdryer, and wipe-able information sheets.
House keeping for more than one night stay will be done only on request; we would prefer not for the protection of both parties, you and our staff, and we would appreciate your understanding in this. Additional Tea / Coffee / Milk will be in a tray on 1st landing please help yourself. Any fresh towels or other items please request. Nothing is too much trouble, but we are trying to keep contact of surfaces at a minimum.

Physically Distancing

Maintaining a physical distance from others is essential to stop the spread of the virus, but we believe it does not mean we can’t be sociable, Vaughan and I enjoy the interaction in our B&B. So please ask if there is anything we can help with. Face coverings are not mandatory within the house unless by personal choice, as we will activate 2m distance at all areas.

Guest Responsibilities

In these strange times, we ALL have a responsibility to prevent the spread of the virus, please try and adhere to the following,

  • Adhere to the socially distance guidance within our home and throughout the local area.
  • Wash hands regularly in line with guidance and sanitise hands every time you enter our home.
  • Ventilate your room daily and prior to checking out, even if our Scottish weather is ‘dreich’.
  • Please monitor your own health. If, however, guests feel unwell during their stay, they should immediately go home or call 111 and follow the necessary instructions.
  • Out standard terms and conditions will remain in place, however, we will flexible should a guest need to cancel or leave as a result of a covid19 virus.
